Paklenica is a common name for two canyon valleys (Velika and Mala Paklenica is the most beautiful area of Velebit Mountain Massiv, which is UNESCO-listed in the World Biosphere Reserves) with cliffs up to 400m high, which spread vertically on the direction of the mountain. From the contact of the sea and mountains to the highest peaks, in the vertically carved and deep canyons of the Podgorica Valley that follow the main ridge of Velebit, there is an abundance of interesting and unusual natural phenomena. Primal Nature aroutes People’s curiosity and inspires visitors. Paklenica National Park is the most famous alpinist centre known even outside Croatia’s borders.
